How much does a Private Investigator cost ?
The cost of hiring a Private Investigator is dependant on the type of job requested. Things like how many hours and how much travel involved are the main reasons. That said, most Private Investigators cost anywhere between $90 and $150 per hour for surveillance work which includes all report writing and images/footage obtained. At Hebb Investigations we lock in the price for you at the start so there are no nasty surprises.

Is it legal to hire a Private Investigator ?
Yes: As long as the Private Investigator is licensed and registered by the governing authority. This is usually by the police in each state of Australia.

How does it work if I go ahead with the case ?
Once we have all the information required for the case and the go ahead, we will select the Private Investigator best suited for that particular job. Once we start the job, you will be updated at regular intervals of every couple of hours unless otherwise arranged. We do this via one of the following, Phone, text, email or Whatsapp depending on your requirements. Once the job is completed we will send you a fully written report of our findings along with images and or video footage obtained. This is packaged in a way that is court evidence ready should that also be a requirement.

Who else would know that I hired you ?
All clients and cases are kept to the highest level of confidentiality and discreetness. Only the personnel working your case within our company are aware of the job itself.

Can you bug someones phone ?
No: Bugging/Tapping a phone, Filming someone inside of their private residence or using a tracking device to follow someone is illegal. Private Investigators use other techniques to follow people and capture them with images/footage that is within the rules of the Privacy Act. Hebb Investigations can help you if you think someone has done this to you though. Its generally called a bug sweep and is a very common request.

Is it legal to follow someone ?
Yes: A licensed Private Investigator can follow someone that they are doing surveillance on. This is a large portion of what our license allows us to do. A person who is NOT a licensed Private Investigator following someone can be charged with Stalking, which is a serious offence by law.

There are many different jobs that a Private Investigator can do for clients. Surveillance of cheating partners, workers suspected of theft or fraud, child welfare matters, back ground checks, serving court documents, missing persons, factual interviews and much more.
